On the Mirimar, there is a café where you can buy drinks and foods. You can even order something before landing at the sanctuary and have it be ready for you when you get back.

One of the attractions to go visit if you are visiting Brisbane is Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (see review). To get there, take a nice river cruise with Mirimar Cruises. We bought our tickets to the sanctuary with our cruise to and from Lone Pine. The total for two people was $146, $73 for each person.

You have two and a half hours at the santuary before having to go back to the boat for the trip back to Brisbane. If you want more time to spend at the sanctuary, you can buy just a one way ride to the sanctuary and take a bus ride back into town. So, if you don't choose the boat ride to and from the sanctuary, you can take the bus to and from the sanctuary. It is certainly less expensive and less scenic.

Great way to see the Koalas at the Lone Pine Sanctuary... Arrive early to be sure of a shaded seat in the upper deck, it gets hot in Brizzy

Once you arrive at Lone Pine around 11:15am after an hour and fifteen minute boat ride, complete with local commentaries, you get to go in a special line that lets you in the sanctuary right away without waiting in line for all the others who have to buy their tickets on site.

If you take the cruise, you will be given a map of the sanctuary along with the reciept for your return back to the city.

On the return trip, if you're good, the captain may give you an opportunity to take the wheel and have your picture be taken. The staff is open to answer any questions you have, and they are very friendly and generous.

Nice cruise of one hour (and one hour return) to the lone pine koala sanctuary. The pre recorded guide would be nicer if it was live instead.

This is the easiest and best way to get to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Central location, 10am set off is nice and easy to make. Plus you can get bacon & egg rolls and coffee in the morning on board. Really (unexpectedly!) funny, yet informative commentary about Brisbane, the river and the river sights on route. They give you 3 hours to go around the sanctuary, which is more than enough... I was able to get a koala cuddle, feed the roos and see all the sights in this time. You then get back on the boat listen to music, get some booze and even the chance to steer the ferry! Under the watchful eye of the captain of course. Couldn't recommend this cruise and their staff more highly. They even changed the date of our cruise last minute when I messed up my dates! Top marks all round!!

You can buy your tickets online or you can buy them when you board the boat. You can also buy tickets from the Visitor Centre. The Mirimar leaves at 10am daily from the Cultural Centre Pontoon located along the boardwalk near the State Library, just north of Victoria Bridge on the South Bank side.
