The displays inside were exceptional, the best maritime museum I've been to including the Sydney Maritime museum.

Love it. Mainly HMAS Diamantina. If interested in history of WWII you will enjoy.

Held my birthday party here. It was great for kids and parents. The waterfront area was absolutely beautiful, with the huge gums for shade and a wonderful breeze.

It’s a great place to be for those who have a decent interest in history and have had a minimal exposure to real-time war equipment

The museum shop has some moves ice blocks and soft drinks, that where nice to have on the riverfront on a hot summer day.

I think the entrance fee was very reasonable, a lot cheaper than the Brisbane Museum down the road and considering all the staff are volunteers; the money goes towards restoration and preservation of these historical treasures.

After checking some photos, I was surprise that it has been 10 years since my last visit here. The main display has aged well in a nice modern building and there is no shortage of interesting displays in the precinct. My main interest was the Diamantina and was interested to see how she is holding up in preservation. Like any organisation that relies on the efforts of volunteers, I would suggest that task of preserving her is proving a challenge, as the old girl was not as ‘crisp’ as it was 10 year back. However this is not to detract from those that put their time into the job. There is plenty of evidence of work in progress trying to keep up with the ravages of time in a corrosive environment. Well done to those that contribute and keep up the good work!

Amazing museum. My boys and I loved exploring the warship, Diamantina. We had no idea of all the levels in the warship. We were there a couple of hours and still missed parts of the ship inside, it's an incredible maze in there. Can't wait to go back and see it again.
